Mark Zitter, MBA
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Mark Zitter founded the company in San Francisco in 1989. He has special expertise in managed care, health economics, and disease management, and has authored four books and scores of articles on health care. He writes regularly for trade journals and is a frequent speaker at national meetings. Mark is on the editorial board for Pharmaceutical Executive and has been an advisor and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He has been a guest lecturer at the Harvard School of Public Health, Stanford Business School, Yale Medical School, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and other universities. Mark holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Stanford University. He lives in northern New Jersey with his wife, Jessica, and three children, Solomon, Tessa Rose, and Sasha.
Thomas Baker, MPA
Partner & Senior Vice President, Strategy and Analytics
Tom Baker runs the Strategy and Analytics practice and heads the San Francisco office of the company. Prior to joining The Zitter Group in 1998, Tom worked for the International Red Cross in several countries, overseeing public health development programs and national-level survey research. Tom holds two degrees from Cornell University, and has completed additional programs at the Harvard Institute for International Development, the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, and The World Bank. He serves as a member of the editorial board of Biotechnology Healthcare and is a frequent speaker and commentator on issues related to biotechnology, health insurance, and pharmaceutical development. An avid backcountry skier and Colorado native, Tom is married and lives in San Francisco.
Partner & Chief Operating Officer
Since joining The Zitter Group in 2003, Andy Pecora has overseen the management and implementation of all tactical programs. His background includes experience in many aspects of healthcare including provider, manager, executive, lobbyist and consultant. He has implemented and developed quality measurement standards for pre-hospital care which now serve as a standard of care. Before joining The Zitter Group, Andy was the CEO of Stamford EMS, Inc. (SEMS), a regional emergency medical services corporation, for over 7 years. During his tenure at SEMS, Andy was responsible for successfully orchestrating a financial and operational turnaround during the implementation of the Medicare Fee Schedule. He facilitated several regional governmental subcommittees for housing and emergency preparedness. Andy is a licensed paramedic with experience in the cities of Newark and Jersey City, and he holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration-Healthcare Management and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Seton Hall University. An accomplished distance runner, Andy is married and lives just off the Jersey Shore.
Jack Lin,
MS, MBA
Senior Director, Strategy & Analytics
Jack brings a unique combination of experience, top-tier academic training, and a consistent track record of superior performance. His background combines managed care experience with strategic pharmaceutical consulting and analysis. Jack previously worked at the Blue Shield of California, where he was responsible for developing the market strategy for the commercial business unit product portfolio representing 60% of Blue Shield’s $300 million operating income. Jack has also worked at Acumen Sciences, a healthcare consulting firm that built analytic models around pharmaceutical data for public payers, particularly state Medicaid agencies. Jack spent a number of years at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) on a variety of both strategy and business process client engagements, thus combining strategic vision with actual implementation. Jack holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
