Mark Zitter, MBA
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Mark Zitter founded the company in San Francisco in 1989. He has special expertise in managed care, health economics, and disease management, and has authored four books and scores of articles on health care. He writes regularly for trade journals and is a frequent speaker at national meetings. Mark is on the editorial board for Pharmaceutical Executive and has been an advisor and reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He has been a guest lecturer at the Harvard School of Public Health, Stanford Business School, Yale Medical School, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and other universities. Mark holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Stanford University. He lives outside of San Francisco with his wife, Jessica, and three children, Solomon, Tessa Rose, and Sasha.

Andy joined The Zitter Group in 2003 and is now the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. In his role as COO, Andy manages the day-to-day operations of the firm which includes overseeing all of TZG’s product offerings, product development, finance, human resources, and sales management. His background includes experience in many aspects of healthcare including provider, manager, executive, lobbyist and consultant. He has implemented and developed quality measurement standards for pre-hospital care which now serve as a standard of care.
Before joining The Zitter Group, Andy was the CEO of Stamford EMS, Inc. (SEMS), a regional emergency medical services corporation, for over 7 years. During his tenure at SEMS, Andy was responsible for successfully orchestrating a financial and operational turnaround during the implementation of the Medicare Fee Schedule. He facilitated several regional governmental subcommittees for housing and emergency preparedness. Andy is a licensed paramedic with experience in the cities of Newark and Jersey City, and he holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration-Healthcare Management and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Seton Hall University. Andy enjoys distance running. He is married and lives just off the Jersey Shore with his wife and two children.

Brian Duffant
Vice President of Business Development
In his role as Vice President, Business Development, Brian is the strategic client lead for all west coast biopharmaceutical clients providing expert insights on managed care issues, and responsible for organic growth and new business development. Brian brings over twenty years of business development experience. His areas of expertise include managed care, specialty pharmacy, contracting, reimbursement, launch planning and subject matter expertise in a variety of therapeutic classes. Brian’s experience includes many years in progressively responsible sales and managed care positions at Bristol-Myers Squibb, contributing to the launch of Cimzia as Area Director of Managed Markets at UCB Inc, and most recently at Savient Pharmaceuticals as Director, Corporate Accounts.
Paul Moss
Vice President of Business Development
Paul Moss serves as the Vice President, Business Development for the Midwest. Paul is the strategic client lead for Illinois, Indiana, Atlanta, Kansas City and San Antonio biopharmaceutical clients, providing expert insights on managed care issues, and responsible for organic growth and new business development. Paul has over thirteen years of sales, sales management and managed markets experience in the biopharmaceutical environment.
Prior to joining The Zitter Group, Paul spent over 11 years at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, North America. While there, Paul gained successful experience in Sales and Sales Management, as well as experience as the Business Implementation Manager for the Managed Markets group and as a Regional Account Manager. In the role of Regional Account Manager, Paul was the primary contact for commercial, managed Medicaid, Part D and government accounts. Paul earned a BS from Northern Illinois University and is currently working towards an MBA from The Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Paul resides in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife and 3 children.
Shannon Biehl
Vice President of Business Development
Shannon Biehl is the Vice President, Business Development for the Greater Boston Territory. She is the strategic client lead for Boston, Connecticut, and Upstate NY biopharmaceutical clients, providing expert insights on managed care issues, and responsible for organic growth and new business development. Shannon brings The Zitter Group a comprehensive knowledge of both physician group and payor dynamics as well as an in-depth understanding of various managed market segment challenges.
Shannon came to The Zitter Group from a small start-up group, White Pines Systems, LLC. Shannon was Director of Northeast Operations and was responsible for developing new business and managing marketing activities related to launching a new personal health record internet transaction solution called SPINNphr, the Secure Personal Information and Notification Network.
Prior to WPS, Shannon spent over eleven years at Novartis Pharmaceuticals in various managed markets and marketing roles. Her last role was the lead marketing agent for the New England Region where she focused on strategic product and customer marketing and developing new channels of business in the patient care arena.
Shannon earned both her BA in Communications and her MBA from the University of New Hampshire. Shannon is married and resides in southern New Hampshire with her family.
